Schedules

The Acolyte schedule is designed to rotate alphabetically. Using the "service preference times" indicated by each family as a general guide, students are divided into equal groups and assigned to one of the regular weekly worship services. Each of these groups are then set up in an alphabetical rotation from month to month. This system assures equal participation for all students and allows families to somewhat anticipate when their child will be scheduled.

Various circumstances may sometimes cause a change in the rotation.

Schedules are generally sent out in 2 to 3 month blocks. In general, you can expect to serve as an acolyte every other month depending on how many students are involved in the program at any given time.

When you receive your schedule, please look over it carefully to make sure there are no conflicts and record the dates on your calendar.  During the week prior to your scheduled service, you should receive a "reminder call".

If there is a conflict with your scheduled date

Many are relying on you to attend on your scheduled date for acolyting. If there is a conflict, it is your responsibility to make a switch with someone else on the schedule. Refer to the Acolyte switch list or Acolyte Roster to find the names and numbers of those in the program. Once you have made a successful switch, contact the Acolyte Coordinator who will then notify the church of the switch. If you cannot make a successful switch, you are responsible for attending at your designated time and date.
