Who We Are

We are a congregation that values caring about peole more than stale traditions or being a part of an institution. We do that because our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, cared deeply for each individual, and we believe that we are called to follow in His footsteps.

Because of our faith and the opportunity that we have to walk with our Lord and share that walk with others, we seek to have a sense of Joy, Openness and Welcome in all we do.

Hales Corners Lutheran, because of that philosophy, is known as a large church with a small church feel. It has the blessings and advantages of numerous high-quality ministries, and also has they joy of people caring for other people on a personal basis.

We base our beliefs on the Word of God revealed to us in the Holy Bible. That is the basis of our faith, teachings, and faith walk.  We believe that the Bible is absolutely relevant for every person today, and our opportunity is to help each of us understand how that relevance plays out in our daily lives.

We look to Jesus as our Savior, to fellow Christians as partners in the Gospel, and to those who are not yet a part of the Christian faith as people to whom we need to sensitively and lovingly carry the Good News of Salvation through faith in Christ.

As we pattern our ministry after Jesus, we realize that our role is to "lower the threshold, and raise the bar". In other words, as our Lord did, we are to meet people wherever they are in the faith, whether new believer, long-time believer, or not-yet a believer. Our additional responsibility to each individual is to help him/her "know and grow" in their faith walk with the Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Because God has called and equipped each of us in different ways to enjoy the blessing of making a difference in the lives' of others for Him, we continually emphasize that our role is to enable people to "get out of meetings and into ministry", because it is in ministry that we experience the joy of serving God and helping others.
