Meet Our Pastors & Staff
Who are we? We are your neighbors. We are community members. We are your brothers and sisters in Christ. We lead worship and ministries here at HCL, and everything we do as faith leaders is geared toward sharing God's love with you, your family and our local and global communities to drive our mission forward and make a difference in the world for Christ.

He “married up” with his wife Paula on August 21,1982. Together, they have been blessed with 3 sons: Aaron and his wife Sarah, with granddaughter #1, Evie; Jacob and his wife Kasie, with granddaughter #2, Harper; and Jordan, who is 19 and has found a young lady willing to be seen with him in public, Haley.
He loves golf most of the time, eating out most of the time, and a good bottle of wine all the time!
"I thank God that He has surrounded me with the most amazing people I've ever met in my life! I rejoice to call them teammates, partners in the Gospel, and friends!"
Pastor Keith grew up in NE Iowa, the eldest son of 5 children from faithful Lutheran parents (Andy and Bea Johnson). He is a graduate of East High in Waterloo, IA. His graduate journey took him to St. Paul’s College, Concordia, MO; Concordia Senior College (BA), Ft. Wayne, IN and Concordia Seminary (M Div 1966) and (D Min 1994), St. Louis, MO. He first served parishes in South Dakota (11 yrs.), then moved to the gulf coast in Alabama (3 yrs.) and served at HCLC since 1980 (35+ yrs.).
His wife Sylvia was a California girl, married in 1963 in Calif. She was educated as a teacher (taught in Mo., Calif, and WI at HCLC) and a deaconess (served at St. Paul’s Lutheran-Oconomowoc, WI). Together, they are blessed with 3 adult children Carolyn (Rob) Berlinski, Brian (Stacie) Johnson and Jennifer (David) Trojan and 8 grandchildren.
He enjoys hunting and fishing with his son and grandchildren, plus wood-working projects and gardening. His family is blessed to travel in the USA, Canada and Europe. He is involved as chaplain for various community groups—among them, Lions International and the Village of Hales Corners.
Pastor Christian has been a Christian as long as he can remember. Near the end of high school, the Lord used his experience on a Short Term Mission Trip to pull him toward a career in ministry as a Pastor.
Christian and his wife April have been married since 2004. They have 3 sons, Elijah, Ezra, and Caleb.
He enjoys mission work, reading, spending time with his family and friends, and the outdoors.
Pastor of Youth & Family
Leon Jameson has been serving children, youth and families for nearly 20 years and seriously loves this calling. A certified DCE from Concordia Nebraska (‘98) and ordained pastor from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (‘12).
Leon loves to share Jesus with all ages. Leon is a founding board member of [un]Paved Ministries and speaks regularly to teenagers and adults throughout the US.
He is happiest when spending time with his wife Gretchen and role playing Kung Fu Panda with his 8-year-old daughter, Sydney Grace and eating Fruit Loops with 2-year-old Rielle Kate.
When away from ministry you can find Leon mowing his yard, running, playing fantasy football, and eating German Chocolate Cake (hands down the greatest food on the planet). Leon’s mission is to live for Jesus, leading others to do the same.
Associate Pastor of Discipleship & High School Youth
Blessed by God to have worshipped at HCL since 1994, taught middle school and administrated the middle school at HCL for a handful of years.
God had called Chad to teach and now He has called him to preach. He works specifically in the areas of High School Youth and Discipleship.
Blessed by God to be a husband to Katie and father to four children.
Outside of work, it's about being with people, God has not created us to be alone. Being physically active both in mind and in body, and working on projects of all sorts of dimensions.
