Last Sunday after church, I made my customary stop at a local coffee establishment. As I approached the drive-through window, the clerk smiled and cheerfully informed me, “the man behind you just paid for your drinks.” A simple act of kindness had me reflecting all the way home on what I could learn, what we all could learn by paying it forward.
With the Lenten season underway, it's almost time to set our sights on Easter, the event that changed everything. Along with Easter worship services to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, HCL's Music Ministry is preparing for our annual Easter Festival Choir tradition. Rehearsals for "Once and For All," HCL's Easter Festival Choir musical, will kick off on Sunday, February 25th at 2:00pm.
The Community Center at Hales Corners Lutheran School is so much more than just a gym to many people and families. Grown men have come to faith through pick-up basketball games. Children learn about Jesus in HCL's Upward basketball program. Families spend countless hours in the gym rooting on their student athletes, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. The Wildcat Open was created to support more moments and ministry like this for our families. Early bird registration is now open and we invite you sign up to participate in our second annual golf outing on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Muskego Lakes Country Club.
When you make a Girl Scout Cookie purchase, you’re helping the next generation of girl entrepreneurs get an important taste of what it takes to be successful—teamwork, planning, and a positive outlook (for starters). The Hales Corners Lutheran School 3rd Grade Girl Scout Troop will be selling cookies in the Common Grounds before and after all church services at the Janesville Campus the weekend of February 24/25. The girls of Troop #10369 have set a goal of selling 1500 packages of cookies, so if you have a sweet tooth and a call to support the mission of our Girl Scouts, be sure to stop by!
