Why does it seem that some people appear to anticipate what life is going to throw at them? Yes, bad things do and will happen to good people. Pick up the newspaper on any given day and you will likely read of loss, pain and suffering locally and throughout the world. While I can’t offer much advice on how you can avoid trials and tribulations in your life, I would like to focus our efforts today on preparation.

The Christmas season is a time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior and celebrate we will! Come kick off the journey to Christmas Day on Saturday, December 23rd at 5:30pm with "NOEL," a special Christmas concert presented by Rhythm & Hum that will transform HCL's Sanctuary into an interactive Nativity experience.
The holiday season is no doubt a cherished time, but for people who are grieving, Christmas traditions and the hustle and bustle of the season can be sharp reminders of the loss they've experienced. HCL is hosting a special Remembrance Service on Friday, December 15th at 6:30pm at the Janesville Campus for families who are grieving a loved one's passing.

The season of giving is here and your generosity can make an impact. Through our Angel Tree and Hope Gifts ministries, you can touch the lives of the children of inmates and their families by sharing the love of Christ. Angels and Hope Tags for the House of Correction will be handed out on November 18th-19th, November 22nd and November 25th-26th. People should pick an angel and/or hope tag which will be one gift for a child, either a toy or a clothing item, and they will then register the angel with a person standing near the Christmas tree.
