Matthew Ministries... This financial education and care ministry has been formed because we believe that faithful management of financial resources lies at the heart of Christian life. Jesus talks a lot about money and possessions, and much of life revolves around this, so we as God’s people are entrusted to take the necessary time and effort to gain the hope, wisdom, and management skills to plan, give, save, and spend the blessings wisely. Then, we will hear Him say “Well done, good and faithful servant…!” Matt. 25:21. (see some testimonies below) Our Matthew Ministers are a team of HCLC-commissioned servant volunteers, trained in financial planning, who lead these workshops. All have been trained for this course by Phil Meinzen, of Concordia’s - Center for Financial Leadership, Inc. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 Concerned about your finances? More about "Becoming Money Wise...". After much research about the various financial programs available, we selected this Christian workbook, with 6 chapters of: 1. Becoming a Responsible Planner, 2. Becoming a Disciplined Saver, 3. Becoming a Smart Spender, 4. Becoming a Debt-free Steward, 5. Becoming a Generous Giver, and chapter 6. is a Cash Flow Form. The course is more like a small group experience, kept very comfortable, where you can share as much, or as little as you are wish. We sometimes hear other testimonials, or of cases from our facilitator, and you will be offered lots of prayer, support, love and hope, along with the guidance. If you are someone who does keep good records, or are financially responsible, but would just like to learn more about how God wants us to be good stewards, this is right for you too. A recent testimony about the course..."Dale,
Currently I want to express my appreciation and thankfulness that HCL offered the Matthew Mentors class. The course has really been helpful and offered advice that can be utilized for a life time. Once again, thanks for the opportunity of being able to attend such a wonderful course that can make a difference in a person life." Our Mentor Team and ProgramOur Mentors are a team of HCLC-commissioned servant volunteers, trained in financial planning, who lead these workshops. All have been trained for this course by Phil Meinzen, of Concordia’s - Center for Financial Leadership, Inc. Our course follows a workbook, written by Ron Chewning, “Becoming Money Wise, a Scripturally-Based Practical Study on Money”. This workbook is easy to follow, and includes Christ-centered advice on life’s financial matters. We will be offering this course on a quarterly basis throughout the year, and we envision this program serving as an outreach for our community. If additional help is needed? While the course “Becoming Money Wise” will serve many people’s needs, if additional help and/ or support are needed, on an individual basis, our Matthew Mentors can also provide this care, confidentially. Each of our Mentors has signed a covenant with HCLC, and Concordia’s CFL, Inc. allowing them to serve with compassion, and providing hope for one’s financial future. Also, if a participant is seeking continued professional financial counsel, a Matthew Mentor may offer their professional services outside of this program. FOR OTHER CONGREGATIONS: Concordia Center for Financial Leadership, Inc. has mentored HCLC, and can also for your congregation.
