Connecting Military Families / Treats for Troops Print E-mail
We are not meant to replace the military’s “Family Readiness” support groups. We are here to provide friendship and an opportunity for your spirit to be comforted and healed by the Holy Spirit. As we encourage and support our loved ones in the military, let us also encourage and support one another.

How can we connect with our military and their families and offer our support?  How can my small efforts make a difference?  Here are several concrete and positive ways to connect

  • Treats for Troops Boxes  - Since its beginning in the fall of 2005, this ministry has mailed almost 700 boxes to Irag, Afghanistan, and other bases where the military has been stationed.  The Lord has graciously provided both the postage monies and items to include in the shipping through your generous donations.  This is especially humbling when we consider each shipment now costs over $400.00 to mail.  Packages include Girl Scout cookies and great popcorn from our Boy Scouts.  School supplies and children's toys have been also sent to one of our Fox Company Marines who requested them for distribution to the Iragi families they visit.  Do help pack boxes or donate, please contact Judy at 414-525-5546.
  • Prayer Challenge Coins - This beautiful coin, designed by the father of a fallen Marine to remind him to pray for his son’s friends, still serving, is a reminder to keep our military in daily prayers and are available for a $5.00 donation. Proceeds will be used toward the postage for our mailings. They can also be purchased to be included in the box for a chosen serviceman or woman.
  • HCL Prayer Vigil is a follow-up from Hand-to-Hand Combat that eets every 2nd Thursday of the month beginning from 5 - 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.  For more information contact Sherrie at 414-529-3440 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Whether you’re a wife, husband, father, mother, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sister, brother, friend, or the “special someone” of a military person; I encourage you to call 414-529-6700, ext. 191 or e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.

We are not just for HCL members. If you know of someone who needs encouragement, prayer, and the support of others who have “been there” please feel free to share our contact information with them.
