Do you feel disconnected from other people as you go through life? Do you hunger for deep, long lasting, genuine community? Do you want to form friendships, and not just acquaintances, with other Christians, so that you can grow closer to God, and be encouraged and motivated for life? Then you have come to the right place. Welcome to one of the best places, if not the best place, to find genuine community. Small groups are the primary way we are connecting people here at HCLC. They are group of approximately 10 people that get together a couple of times a month so that they can form a lasting friendship with God and lasting friendships with one another. We believe that small groups are critical to your life. God made you to live in community. He does not want you to go through life alone. God made you to grow in community. He does not want your spiritual journey to be a solitary one. And we believe that small groups are the optimal environment for these things to take place. In your small group experience, you will find that you are able to safely discover who you are, and safely reveal who you are to others. You will find that you are cared for and supported throughout life! Here is how small groups have impacted others... "The beauty and grace of our small group is evident in the unique gifts that each of its members brings forth every other Tuesday morning. We are a group of diverse, strong, intelligent, compassionate, God-loving women who draw upon our own personal experience with Jesus Christ to encourage and facilitate spiritual growth both on the individual and group level. After spending two weeks with our Bibles and our specific study, we gather at Michelle's house for fellowship and spiritual awakening. We watch a video and spend one hour discussing the personal impact this lesson has on our lives. Everyone listens and shares with an open and compassionate heart. I leave the meeting feeling refreshed, connected, and validated in my faith and love of Jesus." -Kerri Ann Sondreal "I appreciate the range of ages of our small group and learning from other's experiences with the realization that, "I am not the only one." If I am struggling through an issue, I have brought it to the group and through God's word and Spirit my group has provided me insight and comfort."-Laura Hintz
"When we first joined our 40 days group, we didn't know what to expect. We weren't even members of HCLC at the time, so we probably had more anxiety than most of the others. We had been attending HCLC for about 4 years as visitors, but never felt like we really belonged because we didn't know anyone. This all changed with our 40 Days group. We met a group of extraordinary Christians from many different backgrounds, sharing many different viewpoints on life and faith and how their friendship with Jesus developed. It was great to share our experiences in an environment that was so welcoming and receptive. We learned through our group that what we had been missing was fellowship. It completed our circle of faith and made us feel whole. Instead of watching from the sidelines we are now in the game competing." Links: |
