"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

Do you ever wonder how the disciples felt when Jesus asked them to follow him?  It probably made their hearts pound with excitement.  It probably made them feel special and valued.  What about when he uttered the second half of that sentence?  How do you think they felt when he told them he would make them fishers of men?  Do you think they felt prepared to lead other people?  Do you think they felt worthy of caring for the souls of other men and women?  After all, they were just fishermen.

Maybe as a small group leader you have felt similar...excited by the call to follow Jesus...but unprepared to lead and care for the souls of others.  The fact is that few great leaders started out feeling ready.  They were encouraged and mentored into it.  We also want to help you grow into your leadership position in your small group.  We know that it can feel overwhelming to lead a group of people...but we also know that it is needed and it is well worth it. 

New Leader Training
