"Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." Psalm 55:17 KJV. We speak and God listens...we listen and God speaks. Prayer - there is everything in this; comfort, promise, relationship, power, direction, correction and everlasting love. We are blessed to be partners in prayer with Jesus and it is our pleasure and responsibility to precede and then support the pastors, leaders, people and workings of this church, our community, nation and the world in which we live.
I'm excited to share with you a little about the many prayer ministries already in place here at HCLC and to extend an invitation to find an existing opportunity or to create a new area of prayer ministry!

THE PATH TO GOD'S HEART - PRAYER MINISTER TRAINING
Prayer is for everyone - yet everyone is not comfortable with prayer. But take heart! Even Jesus' disciples felt they needed to know more. Prayer Minister Training is a combination of spiritual and practical subjects designed to offer encouragement and confidence. This 3 hour training opportunity is scheduled on two consecutive Wednesday evenings, 1 ½ hours each or one Saturday morning of 3 hours. Call Sandy Rynders 529-6700 for the next available class schedule or check our website.
AFTER SERVICE PRAYER MINISTRY
This ministry provides prayer support to individuals after every worship service. Prayer Ministers listen to an individual's need for a prayer of help or thanksgiving, and then pray with them. Help to make our church a "House of Prayer" by taking advantage of this opportunity often! Consider volunteering your time as an After Service Prayer Minister. Begin by attending the prayer minister training mentioned above.
TELEPHONE PRAYER CHAIN MINISTRY
Provides same day prayer support for those who have prayer concerns or thanksgiving. Hundreds of people each year request prayer support and it is comforting to know that within a few hours of their contact, prayers are being lifted up on their behalf. Prayer Requests are made by calling the church office at 414-529-6700.
EMAIL PRAYER CHAIN
For those who have email, this prayer chain is a great way to both request prayer and be prayer supporters. Get connected by following the Prayer Requests link on our web site at www.hcl.org. There you can choose to send an email, post your prayer request or use both formats. How about making a stop at this site a regular part of your prayer time?
WEDNESDAY MORNING PRAYER GATHERING
Every Wednesday morning, from 7:40 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., individuals meet in the Sanctuary to pray. What a wonderful way to begin the day! The group prays for congregational ministries, pastors, leaders, and needs and then moves their focus outward to neighborhood, nation and world. Stop by any Wednesday - no advance notice is needed. For further information, call Charlie Evans at 414-121-1599.
MINISTRY OF PRAYER
This exciting ministry is designed especially for the homebound and those who cannot attend worship regularly. It provides another opportunity to actively participate in the life of our church. Participants commit to praying individually in their homes for the mission of the church along with special ministry prayer requests conveyed through a monthly letter from the pastor. If you or someone you know is looking for a way to strengthen their connection to HCLC give Pastor Johnson or the church office a call at 529-6700.
CONFIRMATION PRAYER PARTNERS
Have a heart for young people? Remember what it was like to be in Middle School and Confirmation classes? This ministry offers a double opportunity for blessing. Adults are assigned an 8th grader and commit to keeping them in prayer during the school year until their Confirmation Day. This is a low maintenance - high impact - huge blessing ministry opportunity! Contact Peg Schacht for more information at 414-529-6700.
