Media in worship has moved from "accepted" to "expected." Read on to find out how media is used at HCLC and the opportunities for service that it offers. Every week hymn and song lyrics, sermon outlines and the written content of our worship services are projected on screens allowing those present to be more interactive during worship. We have found that guests have an easier time participating since everyone is always "on the same page"! In addition to the service elements presented in PowerPoint; movie clips, worship music videos, drama, live camera feed and sermon enhancements are all a part of worship at HCLC. For instance, baptisms and the Children's Message have become more interactive now that the congregation is able to view them on the projection screens. We have also been able to make DVDs of our worship services available each week for distribution to service men and women, shut-ins, as tools of comfort and evangelism or for a variety of personal needs. There are also many opportunities to impact lives for Christ using media outside of the worship experience. This is an exciting, cutting edge area of ministry that utilizes both "professionally" trained volunteers as well as those who have an interest in being trained on site. Servant opportunities include screen and camera operators for worship and special events, presentation developers (PowerPoint/Easy Worship), videographers, video production and editing, DVD reproduction ministry and wherever the Holy Spirit leads us in creatively presenting His word. Call Peg Schacht, ext. 111 to discuss ideas and volunteer oportunities. |
