Do you remember a time that something needed fixing and you were not able to fix it or a time when you had an appointment with a doctor or for therapy and needed a ride? Maybe you know someone close to you that has had this dilemma. This can be a very stressful situation. Helping Hands ministry is designed to help provide help assistance to seniors, single moms or the disabled. We assist those people who may have no other source of help with yard work, household chores, minor repairs, driving to appointments or therapy, moving, etc. This is a small group that doesn't meet regularly, but shares their talents with those that need help when the need arises. It may involve merely minutes or a few hours. It may need tools or it may just be time to drive someone to an appointment. Handy men and women find this a real blessing, the joy of that comes from serving others. We are looking to expand the group of handy men and women. This will allow us to help more people and with added skills, be able to do more. Please let us know that you would be available on a call basis to share your skills in a time of need. We would like to greatly enlarge our nucleus of people with various talents, and most importantly the willingness to respond, often at short notice. Just let us know when you would be available. Daytime or evening time hours or maybe just weekends. Please stop at the Featured Ministry counter in the atrium after the service and let us know that you can help and what times you are most available. You can also call Don Evans, 414-546-2116 or Lee Maas, 414-529-4740. There is no better time in your life than when you reach out and help someone. |
