Praise God! The Holy Spirit has been encouraging the workers at Ebenezer as we reach into the neighborhood and as the neighborhood reaches to Ebenezer.
At Ebenezer the soup kitchen has grown to over 150-200 bowls of soup served each Wednesday. A man who came to the soup kitchen is now worshipping regularly. We have a new member and she has started the confirmation process. The food pantry served 47 new households this month to a total of 168 households and 388 men, women and children. A guest in a wheelchair is unable to attend church services because the church is not handicapped accessible. We provided the man with an audio Bible and we are mailing him the weekly DVD sermon from the Janesville Campus. The man was excited and thankful! God continues to do great things!!! Keep this ministry in your prayers as we strive to continue the work that Jesus has given us to do in this little corner of the world. The merger with Ebenezer and Peace-Racine is proceeding. Pastor Cash Myers was installed June 22 at Peace-Racine. Pastor Christian Wood was installed June 29 at Ebenezer. May the Holy Spirit lead these men and their families as they lead the people at those sites. We are beginning to act as one congregation. The actual legal merging of the 3 churches may take a little longer, but we are about people and as a people we are one. It was really gratifying to see members from all 3 churches attend the installations of our 2 new pastors. If you have any questions about the merger, please contact Randy Masbruch in the church office at 414-529-6700, ext. 109.

BackgroundCan you imagine 3 congregations working as one to reach our various communities? Starting in the summer of 2007 Ebenezer Lutheran, Hales Corners Lutheran and Peace Lutheran-Racine began investigating a merger of our 3 congregations. This merger would result in one congregation, one governing board and one budget, but with 3 worship sites. In the fall of 2007 all 3 congregations approved moving forward with a more detailed review of the merger. In the spring of 2008 all 3 congregations approved moving forward with the merger. We have begun acting as one congregation as of July 1, 2008, although the actual legal merger is still begin completed. The initial team investigating this combination consisted of 3 members from each congregation. The Holy Spirit truly blessed the work of this initial team as well as the subsequent teams investigating the details. Please continue to pray that we move forward according to the Will of God.
