Ebenezer-HCLC-Peace Merger Print E-mail
Praise God!  The merger with Ebenezer and Peace-Racine is proceeding.  Pastor Cash Myers was installed June 22 at Peace-Racine.  Pastor Christian Wood was installed June 29 at Ebenezer.  May the Holy Spirit lead these men and their families as they lead the people at those sites.  Click on read more to see their pictures.

We are beginning to act as one congregation.  The actual legal merging of the 3 churches may take a few more weeks, but we are about people and as a people we are one.  It was really gratifying to see members from all 3 churches attend the installations of our 2 new pastors.

If you have any questions about the merger, please contact Randy Masbruch in the church office at 414-529-6700, ext. 109.

Pastor Calls

Cash Myers and Christian Wood have been assigned to Hales Corners Lutheran to lead the congregations at Peace-Racine and Ebenezer as we called them at the special congregation meeting on Feb 24.  The calls were issued through Hales Corners Lutheran assuming the proposed merger is completed.  Ebenezer and Peace unanimously appoved calling these pastors.  Each site has the responsibility to fund the ministries at their sites.

Cash Myers will be primarily responsible for serving at the Peace Lutheran-Racine site.  He has completed the requirements set forth by the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.  Cash is 46 years old and married to Tammy.  He has been trained in the church revitalization process through Ablaze!  He received a BFA in Fine Arts from Concordia University, St. Paul, MN in 1983.

Christian Wood will be primarily responsible for serving at the Ebenezer Lutheran site.  He has completed the requirements set forth by the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.  Christian is 24 years old, is married to April and they have a son Elijah.  He has experience working in a Hispanic culture and can communicate in Spanish.  He received a BA in Liberal Arts from Concordia University, Austin, TX in 2004.

Background

Can you imagine 3 congregations working as one to reach our various communities?  Teams are actively investigating the merger of Ebenezer Lutheran, Hales Corners Lutheran and Peace Lutheran-Racine. We pray that the Holy Spirit continues to guide us down this new path.

This merger would result in one congregation with 3 worship sites.  There are still hundreds of questions without answers.  With all 3 congregations approving the resolution to move forward we can begin to answer those questions as well as other questions we haven't even thought of yet.  We expect a merger about July 1, 2008.

The initial team investigating this combination consisted of 3 members from each congregation.  Teams are now working to explore ministry opportunities, property assessments, financial considerations and legal requirements.  Please continue to pray that we move forward according to the Will of God.
