DEVOTED: A BIBLE STUDY COMMUNITY
Sundays | 9:15 & 10:45 am | HCL Chapel
Check out our Bible Study Community at HCL! Led by our pastors and the band, Not of Ourselves, DEVOTED is a weekly opportunity to study the Word of God, praise Jesus with modern music, and grow in community with other adults.
If you've never tried a Bible Study before ... or if you’re a life-long student of the Bible ... DEVOTED is designed with you in mind. We make Scripture fun and engaging, and above all we help you apply it to everyday life. We meet almost every week of the year, and there's always a new topic around the corner. Jump in anytime!
WOMEN OF FAITH
Tuesdays (Sept 22 - Nov 17) | 6:30–8:30 pm | Sanctuary
Every week, women gather for this faith-building time of worship, prayer, large-group Bible Study, and small-group discussion. All women are welcome! The studies are generally 8-10 weeks long, and new sessions begin every January and September. Zoom is available for remote participants.
Starting September 22nd, we will be diving into an eight-session series called "The Book of Hebrews" by Dr. Derwin Gray (RightNow Media). The book of Hebrews was written to people in crisis. They were persecuted, tempted by the rampant sin around them, and doubting their faith in Jesus. It was not so different than what many of us go through today.
Join Dr. Derwin Gray as he walks us through Hebrews, teaching us how to live for Jesus in every season of life. Hebrews shows us that Jesus is better than anything the world can offer. We simply need to answer, “Am I willing to trust him above everything else?”
Cost: $10, cash or check payable to HCLC. If you have any questions or need additional information about the study, please contact Teresa Heise at theise@hcl.org.

WHAT AM I HERE FOR? (MEN)
Wednesdays (Oct 7, 14, & 21, 2026) | 6:30–8:00 pm | HCL Chapel
What makes a life worth living?
Guys, join us for a new three-week Men’s Bible Study as we wrestle with one of life’s biggest questions: What are we really here for?
Work? Success? Family? Pleasure? Achievement? These aren’t new questions. Thousands of years ago, Solomon wrestled with the same search for meaning. And he discovered that the things we chase often leave us wondering … “Is this really it?”
Pastor Todd will lead us through the Book of Ecclesiastes—using videos from Jonathan Pokluda, Scripture, and small-group conversation. Together, let’s be real about the things we often chase, and the profound purpose we discover in Jesus.
FAITH 101
Wednesdays (Jan 13, 20 & 27, 2027) | 6:00–8:00 pm | HCL Chapel
Join Pastor Todd for a three-week class designed to help adults take the next step in their faith. Each session features relevant, meaningful conversations about Jesus, the Bible, and what it means to follow him today.
Whether you’re new to Christianity, exploring faith for the first time, or looking to refresh your understanding of the basics, this class is for you! It’s also the perfect next step if you’re interested in Adult Confirmation or learning more about what we believe at HCL.
Come discover (or rediscover!) the foundations of faith — and grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus.
